Hi, I’m Daniel — the creator of How They Started.
I built this site to inspire and educate aspiring business owners by sharing real stories from founders across Australia. Like many people interested in building businesses, I’ve spent countless hours reading startup content—but much of it felt either too abstract or too focused on massive global companies. Alot of content is based on off-shore countries which ignore some of the unique challenges and legalities to what applies when operating here in Australia.
I wanted to create something more practical and relatable.
How They Started focuses on real Australian businesses—their beginnings, challenges, lessons, and growth—so others can learn what actually works and feel more confident starting their own journey.
